Excellent as always

Good job on this classic tune. Like always, this sounds like something professional I'd find on an album. My one comment is that slide guitar that came in once in a while was too quiet! More slide guitar!! haha

BloodFest responds:

Yeah dude, the recording it's great, I went to the studio and all.
I know, the slide guitar is lacking a lot. I've been busy as shit so I couldn't take enough time to play something that great. But one day I will comeback with some more slide guitar!! lol

Cheers and thanks for your review.
P.S. We gotta work again on something soon man

Gnarly Action Duuuude

Should I feel guilty about giving this a 10 and voting 5? haha

thecoreman responds:

Lol, no mate, it's okay :D

Swellsir

Sounded good, only comment is all the sound seems a bit muddled together, but anything a cappella is great in my books :)

Stalagmite responds:

Good work

Solid lyrics, well delivered, keep songs like this comin!

Voice

I'll just speak about the voice, I atleast know a bit about that. Your voice is a bit nasal, and that makes me think you're not breathing properly. With breathing, make sure you're doing it from your diaphragm and not your chest. If your chest moves at all, you're doing it wrong. Also, you're hitting the notes, but you have to think about the texture of your voice. Something that helps me is to visualize the sound coming out of my mouth and try to put it at the center of my open mouth. I've been singing frequently for a good two years now and only now am I starting to find some things I can sing really well. If you want to sing it's really helpful to see a vocal instructor, even if only once to get some initial breathing techniques and ways to practice. All in all though you still sound fine here, but there's plenty of room for improvement. Great recording/mixing of everything else too, it sounds really good!

Stalagmite responds:

holy shat cat! that is BRILLIANT criticism man! EXACTLY what i have been asking for AGES lol. thank you so much. i will take it all in! and certainly see an instructor! top notch advice man! i owe you one :D

Chill

I was going to go through and pick out specific parts I like, but there's too many, haha. You've got some fine chops in a few sections, nice playing! You should put more of your piano in your hip hop songs!

haywirehaywire responds:

haha thanks a lot man.

Good shit!

I'm diggin it, make more!

StealthSteve responds:

there's a shit-ton in the works.

Swell I seyz

Definitly a Buzzin Fly feel going on there, which is pretty cool. My only comment is the samples could be woven in together more tightly, rather than it feeling like one sample, then it stops and another starts (specifically at the end). Solid work though, I like it.

DJHarlock responds:

The end is actually supposed to mimic the original un-mastered piece's ending, if you check it out at any point it's still in my collection, you'll understand what I mean. I was just highly unsatisfied with my 8/8 kicks that I for some reason inserted as a witless intro...

Shweet

It's one of those songs where I found myself just waiting for the beat to come in, and when it did I smiled and bobbed my head. Love it!
