Shout out to NIMBUS and WYZE,MADFLEX,And SUDDLE, the rest of yall are kinda iffy...i dont care i want some people to troll me hahahahaha! peace

oo and ITS A FUCKING SHOW LMAO!!!!!!!!

I don't care about the integrity of this competition. Give me Nimbus in the first round. Please.

Mad you crazy man, I wouldn't call out Nimbus and I call out everybody!

This is gonna stay a popularity contest until you see my first round, no matter who it's against.

i agree with flex. nimbus is definitely the most popular of us and more LYRICALLY advanced then some of us. Thats still dosen't mean that he isn"t beatable. Do your research correctly and you will find a weakness in every emcee. It's a competition, and just like real life the way to the top is STRATEGY,SECRETCY,AND PERFORMANCE...S.S.P in short...everyone in this comp has something for you to exploit. So technically we are all equal in some sort of way. so with that being said i agree with madflex...GIVE ME WHOEVER LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

Biggest weakness in this group, is a lot of you got a Lil Wayne type flow.

On the judging topic:
We need people to post here, registering them to vote. Right now we've only got five dudes. If you really want to help make a frontpage news post reminding people to post here so they can vote.

COPY AND PASTE THIS TEXT FOR AN ILL FRONT PAGE NEWSPOST

Ugh... So, I wake up, get straight to organizing this comp for a bit and get hyped about it... then I have to buckle down and pick up my discrete mathematics text book for a midterm on Monday. Real life sucks.

Yo, I agree with most of what everyone is saying. The truth is, though, I don't WANT MadFlex in the first round. I don't WANT Wyze in the first round. I want people to get knocked out of the copetition based on skill. Then, once all the riff-raff is out of the way we can REALLY tighten this competition up. Once the basic bullshit is out of the way, it's more of a battle than anything.

As for it being a popularity contest, I don't feel it would come to popularity. Last year wasn't even close to that. They judged accordingly last year based off skill, creativity, punchlines and anything else. I do agree with ICONIC saying you have to do your research. The first round can usually tell you whether your possible future opponent needs to go second in a battle to flip other people's lyrics, or is versatile and can jump in first for the kill.

But sometimes you don't need to do much research. Yes, ever artist has a weakness when battling. Finding a chink in the armor can make it easier to expose that weakness. But when you have tough emcees (like we do with a good part of this group entering this year), it'll be based on skill alone. Wordplay, punchlines, multis. More that than personal attacks.

So be careful. I'm saying I'm winning this year because as an emcee you're SUPPOSED to have confidence in your specific talent. But as it has been stated, even a veteran can be brought down. Does that mean I'll lose? I doubt it, but I'm biased lol.

So good luck to everyone in the comp, and let's make the first round weeding out the bullshit artists so we can tighten this competition up.

Stay up y'all,

Nimbus The General

FYI BigRed, I posted in the forums

http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1 232420

Good stuff man, I forgot to post in the general forums.

Red, I just left a front page post to get MC's and voters signed up. What judges are registered so far?

Just the people who've posted in this thread, which is like 5 people, haha. I think I didn't make it clear before, but now it's at the very top. I just made an audio forum post, Nimbus has one in the general forum, you've got the front page post, and I sent an email out on the NG hip hop emailing list. We'll get 'em :)

Also, when I'm done with this damn text book I'll make a list of everyone that's got their name down to vote.

Aight, another question for you guys. Do you want the match ups to be completely random, or do you want me to make seeded brackets? With seeded brackets I would separate the strongest MC's into different brackets so they don't knock each other out in the first rounds. With completely random brackets I could have the two best MC's face each other in the first round.

I personally like the idea of creating seeded brackets and then assigning the battles within them randomly. You'll know who is in your bracket so you can pay closer attention to their battles early on and prepare lines for 'em. I mean, imagine if Gloine and Exceptid had battled in the first round last year, the rest of the competition wouldn't have been as exciting, ya dig?

What do you guys think?

@nimbus i love the essay lol....but i totally agree
@bigred make that happen i like that idea for the most part. The only problem i see would be the Seeding. Maybe in order to be seeded it has to go by how nice your hype track was? just saying...i dont see another way to do that

Meh, it won't be perfect, I'll just make an effort to spread the MC's of different talents around. I'll be the one seeding the brackets, and I'm familiar with most MC's in the comp so far. Also, it'll only be at the beginning of the comp. Once the brackets are made I won't change anything.

I like the idea of seeded brackets that way we have a great finals and maybe even a few upsets.

I vote for seeded brackets. It's definitely better for the stronger artist to not knock each other out. I like the idea of possibly having a few upsets as well.
